Newcastle-Bronchitis Vaccine B1 Type, Lasota Strain-Mass.

  Lyophilized (freeze-dried) live vaccine for the vaccination of chickens against Newcastle disease and Infectious Bronchitis disease.
Description
  • It is a live CEO virus vaccine derived from embryonated SPF hen's eggs. It has been lyophilized in vials and sealed under vacuum to preserve the stability.

Composition

Each dose contains not less than 106 EID50 Lastoa strain ND virus and 103 EID50 Mass. strain IB virus

Indications

  • This vaccine is recommended for vaccination of chickens against Newcastle disease and Infectious Bronchitis disease, Massachusetts type, for both initial vaccination and revaccination.

Vaccination schedule

  • This vaccine is recommended for use as early as 2 week of age or older.
  • A second dose should be given 4 to 6 weeks later.
  • For replacement pullets, a booster vaccination should be given between 16 and 18 weeks of age.

Administrations

  • Drinking water method :
    • Drinking water vaccination should be done during the cooler part of the day.
    • Remove any disinfectant or sanitizer from the water for 24 hours prior to and after vaccination.
    • Rinse all waterers with clean water prior to vaccination.
    • It is recommended that no water be given for at least one hour before vaccination to allow birds to get thirsty. This shall ensure that all birds get an equal share of vaccine.
    • Dissolve vaccine in the drinking water as per schedule mentioned in the pack insert, supplied with vaccine.
    • Provide ample drinking water space to all the bids.
  • Intraocular (eye-drop) method ( For 1000, 500 and
    200 dose size) :
    • Combine the diluents with vaccine and mix well.
    • Place the dropper over the vial containing vaccine solution.
    • Hold the chick with one eye turned up. Apply one drop of vaccine in to open eye and hold until bird swallows.
  • Intranasal method ( For 1000, 500 and 200 dose size) :
    • Combine the diluents with vaccine and mix well.
    • Place the dropper over the vial containing vaccine solution.
    • Hold the chick with one eye turned up. Place one finger over one nostril. Instil one drop of vaccine into the open nostril and hold until bird breathes in the drop.
    Vaccination reaction
    Respiratory symptoms may be observed from the first vaccination and will vary with the age and the level of parental immunity in the chicks. While birds are going through the reaction period, keep them comfortable be providing adequate heat and good ventilation.
    Precautions
    1. Attention ! live virus can cause inflammation of the eye and eyelids of humans. Do not allow vaccine to come into contact with eyes.
    2. Birds clinically ill or weakened by transport should not be vaccinated
    3. Do not combine vaccine with diluents until ready for use.
    4. Use entire content of the vial when first opened.
    5. Do not vaccinate during 21 days before slaughter.
    6. All used vials and unused content should be disposed safely

    Store between + 2° ( 35°F) to +7°C (45°F)
